I entered this painting in a “theme exhibit” entitled “Rare Earth.”

The theme was: “highlighting the human impact on our planet and earth’s resilience.”

Death of a Loblolly
24″X 36″
acrylic on canvas

Honorable Mention: Art league of Ocean City: Rare Earth, Juried Show

Judges Note: “I was struck by the humor of this piece as ‘boys with toys’ destroy a tree with total indifference.  The scale is distorted, and the style is intentionally naïve but the message is serious: “once they’re gone, they’re gone.”
